I am a freelance artist/photographer and writer based in Ladysmith, BC.
I have always dreamt of creating, through the magic of photography and computer technology, visually pleasing artwork that people can enjoy and relate to. In my work, a photo element is incorporated in the final art as it is transformed by my feelings and vision.
The photo art that I create is based on what we see in our everyday life, whether a flower in a field, a smile of a little girl, a spring landscape, or a balcony in an old town.
While mainly self taught, I have attended numerous photography and digital art workshops learning from masters all over North America. I am a member of the Ladysmith Camera Club, Ladysmith Arts Council, the Cowichan Valley Arts Council and the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria.
I have been successful in both the Sooke and the Sidney Fine Art shows, the two premiere art shows on Vancouver Island. At these shows, my work was successfully adjudicated and was accepted to be showcased among that of some of the finest artists of Vancouver Island (Sidney Fine Art show, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and Sooke Fine Art Show 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021).
Over the last few years, I have also had exhibitions in various communities on Vancouver Island (Chemainus Art Beat, Ladysmith Arts on the Avenue, Cowichan Valley Fine Arts "Best of the Best" 2015 Show, Greater Victoria Arts Council LOOK Show, and the Ladysmith Waterfront Art Gallery).
The digital darkroom allows me to express me feelings and create out of the ordinary images that speak to the world and enrich everyone's experience. With my art, I hope to capture the feelings that first drive each and all of us to take a "snap shot." In so doing, I hope to provide art on print or canvas that people will cherish.
